How it works

From budget to habit, actually in three steps

Spenrol is a zero-based budget app for UPI India, launching soon on Android. Here is exactly what it does, and what is still on the way.

What Spenrol does
01

Set your budget

Enter your monthly take-home, then split it across the categories you actually spend on — food, transport, shopping, whatever applies. Every rupee has a job before the month starts, so there is a plan to measure against, not just a running total.

02

Capture in seconds

Paid on GPay, PhonePe, or Paytm? Share the payment screenshot into Spenrol and it reads the amount, merchant, and date for you — you just confirm the category and tag whether it was required, optional, or impulse. Prefer typing it in manually? That works too.

03

See the pattern

A daily "safe to spend" number tells you what is left without breaking the month. Category breakdowns and an impulse ratio show you where the money actually goes, and a month-by-month archive shows whether it is getting better.

Coming — pending UPI licensing

The pre-payment guardrail

Once Spenrol is licensed as a UPI app, the check moves before the payment instead of after: you'll see a warning at the moment you pay, when it would push you past your budget — not on a statement three weeks later.

This needs a UPI licence from NPCI, which we're working toward. Nothing you track now is wasted — every budget, category, and spend you log carries straight over the day the guardrail goes live.
