Honest comparison
Spenrol vs MoneyView: expense tracker or credit app?
MoneyView is built around credit scores, loan access, and SMS-based auto-tracking. Spenrol is built around one question: was that spend intentional? Two different products designed for two different problems. Here is how to know which one you actually need.
The short version
MoneyView is a strong choice if you want automatic expense capture from SMS and a credit health dashboard in one app — especially if you're working on your credit score or exploring loan products. Spenrol is the right call if you want to understand why you spend what you spend, tag impulsive transactions as they happen, and eventually get a guardrail that fires before your UPI payment goes through.

Honest take
When MoneyView is the better choice
- You want zero manual effort.
MoneyView reads your bank and UPI SMSes and builds your full transaction history without you lifting a finger. If you won't log transactions manually — even a 30-second entry — MoneyView's auto-capture is the better fit.
- Credit score is your priority.
MoneyView gives you a credit health dashboard, bureau tracking, and alerts when your score changes. If you are actively improving your CIBIL score or monitoring it for a loan application, that feature set is purpose-built for you.
- You need loan or credit access.
MoneyView has a lending product. If your financial goal right now involves credit — personal loans, buy-now-pay-later, credit card comparisons — it's the right tool. Spenrol doesn't touch that space.
Where Spenrol wins
When Spenrol is the better choice
- You're fighting impulse spending.
MoneyView shows you what you spent — category breakdowns, monthly totals. But it cannot tell you which of those spends was a panic buy and which was deliberate. Spenrol tags that distinction at entry time, and that tag is what your spending personality is built from.
- SMS access is a dealbreaker.
Spenrol never reads your messages, notifications, or bank data. You log each transaction yourself in about 30 seconds. If handing any app access to your SMS inbox feels wrong — or your bank does not send readable SMSes — Spenrol is the only tracker that works without it.
- You want a pre-payment guardrail.
The Spenrol UPI guardrail launching soon checks your budget before the payment goes through — not after. No amount of post-payment tracking solves the problem of spending ₹1,400 you did not have. This feature does not exist anywhere else.
